Leasing operations

The real estate manager and property secretary who manage the leasing of facilities owned by the Governing Body of Suomenlinna have a very broad customer base. Nearly all of the museums and restaurants, the shop and kiosk, many State and City offices, the repair docks, the guest harbour, and many enterprises and associations operate in facilities leased by the State.

Of the 330 residential apartments managed by the Governing Body, 100 have been leased to employees of the defence administration as employee housing, while the Governing Body leases the remaining 230 apartments. The housing division of the Governing Body of Suomenlinna selects these tenants on presentation by the real estate manager. The turnover of tenants is low, and residential apartments and facilities do not become available very often.

The property secretary, who is responsible for customer service in the Administration unit, manages various matters related to the leasing of residential apartments, and also co-ordinates maintenance and minor repair work in these apartments.
