Service vehicles and cycling

The fortification is a car-free zone where only service vehicles are allowed. Ferry tickets must be bought for vehicles brought to Suomenlinna. For reservations and prices, please contact Suomenlinnan Liikenne Oy. The speed limit in Suomenlinna is 20 km/h (12.4 miles).

The nearest parking bays to the Suomenlinna ferries are in Kauppatori. No accessible parking bays have been designated for people with impaired mobility. Cobblestones make crossing the square difficult for anyone using a mobility aid equipped with wheels.

Cycling is only allowed on the streets. Transporting bicycles on Helsinki City Transport ferries is subject to a charge. All sandbanks are protected structures. Cycling on the sandbanks is strictly forbidden. You cannot hire bicycles in Suomenlinna.

The Suomenlinna service tunnel is not open to the general public.
