Ehrensvärd Museum
The museum, located in the courtyard of the official residence of the fortress’s commandant, showcases the history of the Swedish period of the fortress.
The first proprietor of the building was the founder of the fortress, Augustin Ehrensvärd (1710–1772). The building was badly damaged in bombardments during the Crimean War in 1855.
The museum collection boasts several portraits, miniature ships, weapons, Gustavian furniture as well as oil paintings of Suomenlinna by Elias Martin dating from the 1760s.
The museum is open during the summer season and on weekends during spring and autumn.
