Midsummer 2020 in Suomenlinna

Suomenlinna sea fortress offers services even during the Midsummer holidays. We invite you to come to Suomenlinna to visit museums, enjoy a good meal or come for a stroll in the beautiful surroundings and learn more about Suomenlinna’s colourful past. The whole fortress and each of the service providers commit to take care of necessary safety measures and all services are rendered responsibly.

Enjoy your journey to the fortress with a sea view

During your short journey to Suomenlinna through Helsinki waters, you can admire the beautiful seascapes and take pictures of Helsinki as you move further away from the harbour. Here, you can take a look at the HSL ferry timetables. JT-Line waterbuses also run to Suomenlinna and their timetables can be found on their own webpage.

Visit our museums

The Suomenlinna Museum, the Military Museum’s Manege and the Customs Museum are open throughout the Midsummer holidays. A combined ticket for the museums is available for the price of €19. The combined ticket is valid throughout the summer, until 30 September. The museums also accept the Finnish Museums Association’s “Museokortti” – Museum Card and the Helsinki Card. Here you can read more about the museums.

Charming surroundings for a walk

Suomenlinna with its historical walls, cannons, tunnels and enchanting park areas is an excellent choice for a walk and some quality time outdoors. We encourage you to visit all the important sights and to enjoy the crisp and invigourating sea air.

Please remember that you cannot make barbecues or open fires in Suomenlinna, not even with disposable barbecues. In case a fire broke out in Suomenlinna, the damages would be devastating to our cherished World Heritage Site. Let’s help each other preserve our World Heritage Site for many generations to come!
