To reduce emissions, we recommend that you use public transport to get to Katajanokka.
The service ferry is part of Helsinki public transport. If you have a valid HSL ticket (AB, ABC or ABCD) you can use it in the ferry. Suomenlinna is in the HSL ticket zone A.
If you don’t have a valid ticket you can buy it from the ticket machine on the departure pier or via the HSL app. An AB day ticket is the best option and it allows unlimited travel for 24 hours not only in the ferry but also on trams, buses, commuter trains and metro in A and B zones.
Tickets need to be purchased before boarding. Please note, that tickets are not sold on board. See the HSL website for ticket prices. The crossing is free with a Helsinki Card.
At the service ferry the number of passengers is reduced until further notice. Hand sanitizer is available, cleaning has been increased and keeping safety distances is reminded with stickers and posters. On the service ferry, you have the possibility of open air travel on deck.
