Visitors can enjoy their own snacks in the picnic shed by the beach, along the main route in Kustaanmiekka. The picnic facility is located in a yellow shed built in the Russian era.
The distance from the main pier to the picnic shed is approximately one kilometre. Waterbuses operate both to the Suomenlinna Centre and the King’s Gate pier during the summer season. The distance to the picnic shed from each is approximately 500 metres.
The facility has long tables and benches for 60 people and plenty of available floor space. As the picnic shed is located close to the beach, its toilet facility can also be used as a changing room.
The building has no heating so it is only open from the beginning of May through mid-October, from 9 am to 7 pm daily.
The room cannot be reserved for groups as it is open to all visitors. When using the room, please be considerate to other users and give others enough time and space to enjoy their lunch as well.
Accessibility: The picnic shed is accessible by wheelchair with assistance. There is a steep ramp at the entrance. The closest accessible toilet is the public toilet in the Virtue Bastion, next to the Glass Studio Hytti.
