Safety in Suomenlinna during COVID-19 – some services are open

Some services in Suomenlinna have opened up following the national government guidelines. Many restaurants, cafés, museums, and galleries are open, and you can enjoy the outdoors while walking around the beautiful sea fortress and exploring the sights. You can see precise day-by-day information on open services from our opening hours calendar. Open the Suomenlinna website opening hours calendar.

Conference and banquet facilities are available for rent again. The venues are rented with the personnel limits set by the regional state administrative agency in mind. Get to know the venues here.

As a neighbourhood of Helsinki, the same COVID-19 regulations apply to Suomenlinna as to the whole Helsinki Metropolitan Area. You can check the updated situation from THL. Open the guidelines from the THL website.

Should the COVID-19 situation allow it, the rest of the services in Suomenlinna are to be opened throughout the spring and early summer according to regulations in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. It may be possible to hold public events with participant restrictions in June.

The number of passengers is reduced until further notice on the Suomenlinna ferry. In addition to the HSL ferry leaving from the Kauppatori Market Square, on weekdays you can also get to Suomenlinna on the HSL service ferry departing from Katajanokka. On both ferries, you have the possibility of open air travel on deck. Also JT-Line waterbuses operate to Suomenlinna from the Market Square. The number of passengers is reduced until further notice and open air travel on deck is possible.
