Lonna Island

Lonna is a small island and part of Suomenlinna fortress area. Lonna is situated between Market square and Suomenlinna and it takes only seven minutes to get there from the city. Lonna was once a base for storing and clearing mines, but now the island is a refuge where visitors can leave the hustle and bustle of city life behind them.

Services

There is a restaurant, coffee shop and bar and public sauna in Lonna. The mine storehouses are rented as banquet- and conference facilities. Many events are organized in Lonna during summer. Read more about Lonna’s services.

Getting there

A waterbus operates from Helsinki Market Square to Lonna between 1.5-30.9. The waterbus leaves from the Market Square. Please read more about waterbus to Lonna here.

Lonna is easily accessed with own boat. The concrete pontoon dock at the north end of Lonna has six buoys. The water depth is approximately 1.2 metres at the shore end of the dock and about four metres at the other end.
